Tom is currently employed as a Photo and Video teacher at Strath Haven High School. Previously he has worked at AIM Academy as a Media Arts Instructor, Philadelphia Photographics as a custom photography printer, and has worked with PhillyCAM, Lost Highways Archive & Research Library, and SRV Productions. He has taught Media Arts, Ancient History, Screenwriting, and Visual Arts in grades K-12.
Tom is recognized as a dynamic arts instructor. His work has been featured in publications including DIY Photography.net, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and as a Power of Arts award winner from the Lab School in Washington. Educational researcher Kate Cain has said his lessons are, “a clever way to encourage planning, mathematical thinking, and language and communication skills.” Philadelphia Inquirer writer, Kristin Holmes, visited Tom's classroom recently and writes about her visit here.
